How I made this cycling desk in 5 minutes

I love failure just as much as I love success. Actually failure is not a failure as people might think it is.

Failure is only a step ahead. Failure is only a sign that you are getting closer to your target.

What I really hate is giving up. I hate to give up and to stop trying to get better.

And that’s why I try to make my best. Maybe my best is not THE BEST. And maybe it’s not good at all. But it still is my best. The only one I need to compete with is myself.

Today I made this cycling desk pedals using a simple modification.

Cycling desk is brilliant idea to spend your time in front of your desk.

Instead of sitting without any action for long hours, cycling pedals give you the chance to train your legs and joints under the desk without going away from your desk and your computer.

If you have to spend long hours sitting in front of your desk then this cycling pedals is the best solution for you.

I liked the idea of cycling desk pedals and standing desk and wanted to imitate them.

I got this cycling bike trainer and tried to use it in a better way.

I got this bike and wanted to use it better than its usual usage.

Simply I put this arrangement to make that cycling desk.

Put the bike trainer in a suitable place.

Then bring the other parts of the desk.

I used this table to make leverage for my elevated desk.

Then I put that wooden ladder to make the desk.

Then I put the laptop on the wooden ladder to support it.

Now you have a nice cycling desk you can use safely as your productive environment.

The bike trainer is completely fitted under the desk. 

This makes it a nice cycling desk as you can see in the video.

My First Arabic Post on Instructables

Today I am so proud and happy to announce my first complete post on the big DIY Giant instructables.com

I've always wanted to publish in my native mother language Arabic.

I've tried it once before but it seemed like the website didn't support the Arabic Language back then. It was bad news for me but I kept making new projects and posting new articles on instructables.

It has been like addiction to motivation.

Today I came up with a whole new idea. I thought to myself: 

Why don't I translate my instructables to new languages like German, French or Spanish?

And then I started to translate my previous insrtuctables and to post in German and French too.

I thought of repeating my experiment in posting in Arabic Language on instructables.

You know what .... it works.

I don't know but it may be the first one also.

I've Googled it before and today but I didn't get any results. I couldn't find any information about other Arabic articles on instructables.

This was a huge shift for me.

I remember back in 2009 when I joined instructables as reader.

I've always searched the web for DIY and How-to's. I've always searched for many electronic circuits of projects to build and I got the same results .... You can always find it on instructables.

So as a reader it was something good for me but with no slightest effort. I even saved lots of articles on the hope that I may build some of them someday.

I've always had that feeling of delayed motivation that has been defeated by procrastination to post something on instructables.

Although I've previously posted projects and tutorials on my own blog since 2008 but I couldn't turn that motivation to post on instructables into a real thing.

It actually took me four years as a reader from 2009 until I had the courage to post my first post in 2013.

It only started when I saw a contest that I thought I had something to fit in. I knew before that contests are help on regular basis on instructables but I felt like this one is for me.

With the inspiration and help of my wife we published our first instructable.

Actually we both posted seven articles back then and they all got the theme of the contest that started it all the way.

We didn't won in this contest but it was a big opening for both of us.

The motivating and feedback from the healthy environment that instructables gave us was magnificent.

After many trials and posts I've won my first prize as a runner up on Leftovers Contest for my article about wind turbine made from recycled materials.

Today I urge you to start your instructables in your own language.

You will never regret it. They also have contests for first time authors.

Defeat that procrastination and start right now. I assure you that you'll never be the same anymore.

Finally I made it. I've always wanted to make a solar powered phone charger. I'm really obsessed with renewable energy and feel that they are the real future of energy for the humanity.

So I wanted to try to make this solar powered phone charger with the minimalist components and steps.

It's not rocket science. I actually had the idea when I saw it on instructables.

The idea is very simple. You need a solar panel that converts Sunlight intoElectricity. And you also need a constant Voltage source for charging your phone. This constant Voltage source is the car charger.

The charger here does some functions:

• Regulating charging voltage and current
• Voltage step up or Voltage step down. ( here I used a 6 Volt Solar panel - so I used the charger as a voltage step down circuit )

Step 1: Components and Tools

Here are the components and tools you are going to need:

Components

Solar Panel ( I had a 1.5 watt solar panel win 6 volt output ) ---- > Amazon or eBay, Aliexpress

Phone Charger for car ( I actually found this one but you can buy it ) ---- >Amazon US or eBay, Alixpress , Banggood , Amazon UK , Amazon DE , Amazon FR , Amazon CA , Amazon ES , Amazon IT

Some wires

Tools

Solder iron - to solder the wires into the solar panel ---- > Amazon or eBay ,Aliexpress

Solder Wire - to connect the wire into the solar panel ---- > Amazon or eBay ,Aliexpress

Screw Driver - I used it as a tool for opening the charger ---- > Amazon or eBay ,Aliexpress

Voltmeter - I used it to test the solar panel ----- > Amazon or eBay , Aliexpress

Crocodile Clips - They are the handy connectors that you can rely on for connecting stuff -- Amazon or eBay , Aliexpress

Step 2: Solder Wires Into Solar Panel and Open the Charger

I had a Solar Panel with no wires connected to it. So I had to solder the wires into the back of it with solder iron and solder wire.

I used the Voltmeter to test the Solar Panel. The output Voltage is 6 Volt. with no load.

Then I used the Screw Driver to open the car charger to get its circuit out.

The car charger normally gets its input power from the 12 Volt lighter outlet in the car dashboard to output 5 Volts used for phone charging.

The connector on both sides of the circuit have the negative terminal while the single terminal at the end is the positive one.

Step 3: Connect and Test It in the Sun

Connect the phone charger into the Solar Panel using the Crocodile Clips as the following :

• Positive terminal of the Solar Panel to the backward of the charger circuit.
• Negative terminal of the Solar Panel to one of the side connectors on the charger circuit.

Put it in the Sun and test it using the your phone and USB cable.

Note that this type of phone charging with direct sunlight and without any battery takes long time to charge your phone due to relatively small charging current.

But finally, it works. If you find yourself in a place where you don't have any Electricity with plenty of Sunshine, give this one a try.

اليوم قمنا برسم خريطة العالم على الحائط فى غرفة المعيشة 

يعتبر هذا المشروع مشروع إصنع بنفسك كما إنه يعتبر مشروع تعليمي لإظهار خريطة العالم الجغرافية بصورة واضحة طوال الوقت 

كان الهدف الأساسي من المشروع هو عمل رسم توضيحى لخريطة العالم لكى تكون أماكن البلدان التي قمنا بزيارتها واضحة بالإضافة إلى البلدان التى لازلنا ننوى زيارتها إن شاء الله

Today, we made a DIY project ' World Map Wall '.

It was a really simple project.

We decided to draw the global map in our living room.

The main target of this project is to visualize our dream of travelling as many countries of the world as we can.

It really works. We can see our dream everyday on the main wall of our living room.

The project only took us about 2 hours.

أصبحت مفتوحة لدول العالم كلها 

 

و قد كانت المسابقات من قبل على هذا الموقع مفتوحة للمشاركة فى دول معينة فقط أما اليوم فقد أصبحت المشاركة متاحة لجميع الدول

إلى هنا فقد انتهى المقال السابق 

واليوم وجدت هذا المقال فى المقالات التى لم تنشر
